XTV Fairleads

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Hawse XTV 6″ $53

Hawse XTV 4.875″ $37

Factor 55 introduces a new line of Aluminum Hawse Fairleads for the Powersports UTV/ATV market.  2 new fairleads offered in the common 4.875″ and 6″ mounting bolt spacing for Powersport UTV/ATV winches.

The 4.875″ and 6″ fairleads are CNC machined from 1 inch thick USA 6000 series aluminum bar. The industry standard fairlead thickness is .50 inches thick.

The thicker aluminum bar results in a larger outer fillet radius for the synthetic rope to slide against. This results in less stress on the rope fibers during high angular pulls, increasing the life of your synthetic rope.

These fairleads come in a durable MIL-A-8625F TYPE III gun metal gray hard anodized finish with a laser engraved logo.

What is the best surface finish for Hawse aluminum fairleads?  Without a doubt it is a Type III hard anodized coating.  Not cosmetic Type II anodized finishes, not powder coated, and not raw or polished aluminum.  Why?  Because a hard coating can resist the abrasion damage from a dirty/gritty synthetic winch rope rubbing across it.   Especially during extreme side pulls where rope fiber stresses are extremely high.  A Mil-A-8625 Type III hard anodized finish leaves a .002” thick Al2O3 ceramic coating that is in the top 5 hardest materials known to mankind (See chart under Corundum/Sapphire).  Not too far away from diamond hardness actually.  Another valuable material property from hard anodized coatings are the low coefficients of friction.  Low friction = lower rope heat.  Only drawback?  Hard anodizing is not offered in typical bright and fancy anodized colors.  All Factor 55 fairleads only come in Mil-A-8625 hard gray finishes. Not fancy, but it is the proper finish to extend the life of your synthetic rope.

Overall Dimension of 4.875″: 6.25″ x 1.95″

Overall Dimension of  6″: 7.4″ x 1.95″

For synthetic winch rope only.

*NOTE- Fairleads DO NOT come with mounting hardware.

*The reason for this is depending on your vehicle, bumper, and fairlead mounting thicknesses the shank length of the bolts may need to be longer or shorter to prevent the bolts from contacting the body of your winch.  In most cases the mounting bolts that are supplied by your winch manufacturer are adequate in strength and length.  Please contact us for any specific questions.

ProLink XTV

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Shackle/D-ring mount for UTV and ATV winch lines

The ProLink XTV allows UTV and ATV winch owners to replace the conventional winch hook with a safer and stronger shackle/D-Ring. Winch hooks can cut and fray recovery straps and often allow strap ends to escape during typical loose/tight cycles of a winching recovery. Screw pin shackles do not allow strap loops to escape due to the secure screw pin attachment. The ProLink XTV does not require splicing and is compatible with steel cables or synthetic ropes up to 5/16 inches. The cable eye is retained in the ProLink XTV by a 7/16 inch diameter titanium double shear pin and internal snap ring. It is easily installed in minutes. The EPDM Rubber Guard protects alloy fairleads and is securely attached to the ProLink XTV with 4 barbed tips.

The ProLink XTV stows neatly against either roller or Hawse type fairleads and is designed to be used with common standard ½ – 5/8 inch shackles. MADE IN THE USA, the ProLink XTV is constructed of 6000 series billet aluminum and 6Al-4V titanium and is anodized/powder coated in 5 different colors. The ProLink has a max load rating of 6000 pounds and an ultimate failure of 22,000 pounds.

**NEW LOOK** NOW AVAILABLE IN HI-VIS SAFETY RED
At Factor 55 we have been using a version of our custom ultra short flat straps for years to assist in a variety of useful vehicle recovery applications. These short straps are not constructed like typical recovery/snatch straps. The Shorty Straps are not designed to store energy from stretch. They are designed to serve as a versatile short soft link to attach to vehicles and are constructed of an ultra low stretch (low energy storage) polyester, not high stretch nylon like typical snatch straps. The applications vary from easily attaching to vehicles that are not equipped with recovery points, to using your winch and Shorty Strap to field repair/straighten bent steering components like tie rods and drag links. The inherit flat shape of the straps prevent the straps from rolling and twisting when attached to tubular shapes like bumper stingers, steering components, and nerf bars. We prefer flat straps over round ropes for this reason. Even polyester webbing materials retain a small element of material stretch and since the total energy stored is a function of the % of stretch and the overall length of the strap, we have designed the strap to be as short as possible but still retain the necessary webbing overlap and stitch count necessary for the rated loads. The overall length of the Shorty Straps is 3 feet, and this is reduced to only 1.5 feet long when used in the common basket configuration. Low stretch/energy storage equates to less recoil energy during a possible component failure. These straps are manufactured in the USA to Factor 55 specifications.

Extreme Duty Soft Shackle
10″ $70.00
20″ $90.00

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Soft shackles may be used as a lightweight replacement connecting rigging for common steel screw pin shackles. The Factor 55 10 inch and 20 inch diameter Extreme Duty Soft Shackles are made in the USA under the uncompromising Factor 55 quality standards. Like all Factor 55 rigging products, these shackles have been lab and field tested to assure consistent minimum breaking strength values. Each extreme duty soft shackle is constructed of HMPE Plasma rope that includes additional abrasion and UV protection with a woven polyester jacket that is carefully whipped and coated with Fiber Lock. Note how the protective jacket is attached close to the knot, providing as much abrasion protection as possible. For their size and weight, these Extreme Duty Soft Shackles provide an additional 25-30% verified breaking strengths when compared to common standard soft shackles on the market today. The longer 20 inch diameter version functions as a common soft shackle but also allows for the user to double loop the shackle resulting in breaking strengths exceeding 70,000 pounds. WLL and minimum breaking strengths clearly marked. Engineered, Tested, and Made In The USA Minimum Breaking Strength – 43,500 pounds WLL – 8,700 Pounds 3/8 diameter plasma rope construction Weight – 10 inch – 6.5 ounces Weight – 20 inch – 10.5 ounces
